RACE AND ETHNICITY.
Race and ethnicity are two concepts. In the world contain different race and ethnics. In race people share physical characteristics like skin color, facial features, and stature. In race it is about the more of a biological category or a social category. But lot of people think in a race according to biological character. They believe race has indeed served as the premier source of human identity.
In the world the most noticeable difference thing is skin colour tone. For an example, some people have very dark skin while others have light skin. Another most different thing is hair type. Some people have very curly hair while others have straight hair.
Another different we can see in the world is lip type. Some people have thin and small lips while others have thick lips. And some people in the world is very tall and while others are relatively short.
According to that scientists are identified nine races. They are Asian, Indian, African, American Indian or Native American, Australian Aborigine, Melanesian, European, Micronesian. When European have skin colour called 'white skin' and African or African American people have skin colour called 'black'. And also some light skin colour people have straight hair but some of them have curly hair. Normally African dark skin colour people have curly hair but some of them have straight hair.
We can see two kinds of people according to their skin colour. Some of people have blue eyes in the world while others have brown eyes. Normally European people and American people have blue eyes and brown eyes people are we can see in normally Asian countries.
In the world now a days people are travel to get the better life from other countries. So people are getting mixed up. In the united States some children have whit parent and a black parents. When some people contain dark skin, curly hair and brown eyes, while others have light brown hair. When we are understand our races we have no problems with each other and we can live together. For an example president Obama has dark skin but he was one of the president in America but America normally concerned as most of the people the people have light brown or white skin.
Ethnicity is mainly concerned with people where they live or where they come from. In ethnicity mainly talk about the people's cultural heritage. In this ethnicity is useful to refer and share social, historical and cultural experiences, believes, behaviors, values that they coming from religious background.
Ethnicity is more important thing that how we treated to others. Ethnicity is important to identify the many group of people. In ethnicity is use to reasons for explain what is good or bad. Because according to their religious and cultures they learnt what is good or bad from their ancients. Sometimes ethnicity is determined by the manner of dressing.
In Sri Lanka normally have light skin colour, brown eyes and black colour hair. Some of people have highly curl hair while some of people have straight hair according to race. Sri Lanka is a South Asian country, so that their facial features are normally same but one person to another person it is different.
In Sri Lanka most of the Sinhalese are Buddhist, most of the Tamils are Hindu, and the most of the Malays are Muslim. According to the population most of thee Sri Lankan are Buddhist.
Sri Lankan's identify themselves according to their ethnicity, family, religion and birthplace. As I'm a Sri Lankan. I'm Sinhala Buddhist. We have our own ethnicity from our history, culture, and religion. For an example; Sinhala and Hindu New Year we celebrate on 13th and 14th f April in every year and we do everything in auspicious time during that days.
History of different cultures can make different ethnic groups. According to that "Ethnicity" and "Ethnic" avoid the biologically connections of "Race".
